If you don't like the basic mechanics of that it's probably not for you. For me, the exploration, hunt, and combat are incredibly satisfying.

I played through the entire game and I can say that it does stop being boring. Sometimes it's frustrating too.

the Colossi get more involved as you progress but the 'meat' of the game doesn't change at all.

Yep. Thats all it is. Back to a time when games were a lot simpler. Its a PS2 era game. If you dont like it by now you may as well play something else. Otherwise itll feel like your just trudging along needlessly. Its one of those you had to live through that era type games.

I can see why you might say that. If you can stick with it until #5, I would at least do that before deciding to call it quits, as #5 is one of my favorites. #1 and #2 are pretty tame really. But no, if you're looking for the game to get faster-paced, it's not really gonna happen. There were two near then end (IIRC #11 and #14? The cat and the one that knocks over the columns) that were a little faster but still not a high-octane beat-em-up or anything. It's just not that kind of game. It's more about atmosphere, isolation, light puzzle elements in real-time and the astonishing sense of scale which may not be as astonishing in 2018 as it was in former years.

#3 is good and #5 is my personal favorite. But I've always lived climbing on giant beasts and stabbing their weak points, so the game just might not be for your. At least try #3 before stopping.

it's definitely not. Dark Souls has me fighting gigantic enemies on the regular but with actual combat instead of climbing + stabbing

I tried 3 different times to beat it and had to give up by #7. A game with that kind of premise should not be so dull

I appreciate the atmosphere in those games, but playing them feels like torture because they're so clunky.
