I've finished the story in Volume 1 and just been working on some extra stuff before I move on. However, I'm wondering if there is a check list of stuff I should do right now and stuff I can ignore until the next game.

You can outright ignore everything. The remake is a streamlined version which takes out the grinding.

Some book of ryu stuff will take longer, however.

Ryu book stuff and the avatar data battles if you care about getting movies/wallpapers/music. I'm pretty sure those are volume specific.

Also make sure you do the doppelgnger stuff before moving on.

The only wallpaper that matters is "hundred per day"

I love .dot hack but this wasn't a good remaster at all. The 4th part was a terrible fanfic ending as well.

I had the first game but it disappeared. I never had a chance to play any others.

Go find my guide. The version that's up is out of date, but it should still have a list of things to do before the volume ends.

You'll want to finish the campaigns (except for Bikman), for one thing. I say more in the guide.

Now if I can just find the time to actually finish my updates to the main trilogy.

What they remastered the 3 .hack gu games and rolled it into one game and made it available on steam? Count me in.

Sometime has passed since the events of 3, you work for Pi at CC the game is about to shut down for good, yuo log back in on the last active day of the server to find Ovan. Aida is everywhere in the game and is fucking it up real bad.

You find Ovan get a NEW POWER that is really underwhelming and locks the use of your other skills and weapons. You and Ovan team up and you end up saving him from his coma in G.U 3. The last game is like an hour long.

I mean...

In Vol.4 the game's data was so corrupted and lost that a ton of your progress was lost anyways, such as several levels, some gear, and a few skills. So hey, let's go the extra mile because CC Corp is dumb, both in-universe and irl.

Better than how the series was treated here during the PS2. Low enough numbers for the original games that I only found the first two, and no GU release. Bandai Namco was horrible with PAL releases.
