I had hiccups for almost 40 hours about a year ago. I was ready to crack and in disbelief when they finally stopped.

Yeah, I ended up holding my breath until I almost passed out, and that got rid of them. ... For an hour...

Did you even try peanut butter? It's so enjoyable and useful.

Unless it's a larger underlying health issue, most hiccups are caused by a lack of CO2 is the bloodstream, which is why holding your breath is the most common solution.

If you feel that you suffer from hiccups too often, I highly recommend you practice yoga breathing, Google "The Science of Breath". I've been practicing for years and can't remember the last time I had a hiccup.

I eat peanut butter a lot. On sandwiches, ice cream, marshmallows, and sometimes even plain. Peanut butter is good. But it doesn't do anything for my hiccups.

Until a couple days ago, I haven't actually had the hiccups for several months. Actually, I'm pretty sure the reason I got them again was because a few days before that I thought, "Hey, I haven't had the hiccups for a while! Woohoo!" Normally when I get them, they come and go for several days before they leave me alone for a while again.

For the time being though, they're leaving me alone. I'm sure they'll be back later though.
