You're confusing the volume of outrage from people on the left with political positioning.

In terms of policies, Trump is not far-right at all. He's mainstream conservative on most issues and oddly liberal on foreign economic issues. He's closer to the center politically than GW Bush was.

been watching old shows from my youth like Frasier and Northern Exposure, X files even; all have many casual references to political affiliations and no one loses their shit.

there was a tv show that was just canceled because all it did was shit on conservatives and it was so annoying no one watched.
