Some people romanticize this and assume he straight-up wasn't a bad dude (he was) but there are things ~~like the Red Wedding~~ that really did operate in favor of public interest. Like when he's explaining how hard it was to even choose his words because he once told someone to go screw themselves and "could you imagine?" And right when he was genuinely trying to turn things around and be a better person, Jessica stabbed him in the back, made him go nuts again, then killed him. Yeah you can argue he would've reverted back anyways, but he was at least making a genuine attempt to be better.. But that's probably more sympathetic than siding with them for many, especially Killgrave.
