I think the NYC subway is one of the best in the world. It gets you to every corner of the city and without too much bullshit. Even if one considered the Seoul system as better, as said, the city itself is shit compared to NYC.

I took the NYC subway for almost two decades, for many years, daily. Those were not issues. There wasn't piss every where and stations wouldn't be closing down every week. All of this is exaggerated.

Also every other city in the US has a worst issue with homeless than NYC. NYC is one of the better ones in terms of that.

I also don't see what's nonsensical about any of the routes except maybe having to go through Manhattan for some of the Queens to Brooklyn trains. But then there's other trains for the direct route.

I never said I've encountered it. I said it's a result of homeless people, which every city has an issue with.

Also the times I was there, I distinctly remember body odor being the biggest issue in the subways in Seoul. Maybe because it was the summer months, but you're not helping your case much by concentrating on smell, as if to say there's no issue with smell in Seoul.

DC subway has the coolest stations

The NYC subways are incredibly effective from a mass transit perspective (you can easily get anywhere you need in the city without ever owning a car), but the experience itself is horrendous.
