US had a lot of problems but its definitely solidly in the top half of places to live. Probably more like top fourth. We have it on average very good compared to most of humanity. If you find somewhere that is better for you that is good. But most the planet is a shithole if the US as a whole is one that is for sure. I can't speak for the whole of EU, but Scandinavia and the Netherlands aren't tricky at all to move to, as long as you have a job. I'm guessing that it'll be the same in a lot of other countries - there's just no good reason to deny an immigrant who will contribute to the economy and welfare. Sure, if you wanna move here and don't have a job or a legitimate reason to be granted asylum, it could get trickier.
