Was a new IP from Nintendo last year that seems like it just came and went with little fanfare

Not too far but from what I gather so far you have a town that you have to build up with buildings and residents and to do so you go adventuring in an openish world with dungeons and stuff

Seems very well made and has charmbut I feel like I havent gotten to the real meat of the game yet

I heard it basically has a lot of fetch quests and repetitiveness, backtracking, etc.
When I tried the demo I hated switch characters to attack enemies and I read reviews that they don't tell you which characters to bring on missions. If you take the wrong ones you could get stuck easily.

It's like Animal Crossing meats 3D Zelda.

It's really fun. Has a nice story. Esna is cute.

By getting "stuck" you mean portal back to town and change characters and then portal right back to where you left off.

I tried to play it but got bored when the tutorials dragged on. I might give it another try at some point.

Just completed the first dungeon

In the absence of a traditional style 3D Zelda this does the trick. Plays very similar. Characters have different abilities which make up your items. Would be nice if you could switch them on the flyas it is its relatively tedious the way it is. At least they allow you to teleport back to your home base from anywhere

Overall Im enjoying it a lot so far. Zelda-likes are few and far between for some reason

I really liked the game. Especially due to it having a much larger focus on combat than normal 3D Zelda. (BotW being an outlier in that it's basically all combat except for shrines and DBs)

Yeah the combat is pretty decent, also the first boss was surprisingly challengingI didnt die but it wasnt a cakewalk
