Because I don't want sugar sneaking its way into every god damn thing I eat.

And garlic salt is a pretty straight forward concept, Garlic and fucking salt. If you want to add sugar then call it "lowry's garlic blend" or some shit like that.

Assume there's sugar in most things. Especially anything you're not making from scratch. Sugar is a flavor enhancer even for savory dishes, and once food companies realized that, they started adding it to everything because it meant people would eat more even when they weren't necessarily hungry, which equaled more profits.

So you know. Just capitalism things

It's not an attitude. It's literally marketing and engineering controls for how we produce food. You want something really, depressing, google something like: 'corporate food production monocultures.' We even genetically select seed strains for growing based on the amount of sugar present in the crop, and other things that entice people to eat more than they should. We've been doing it for over a half a century, and people barely knew about it then, let alone now.

what you want is Garlic Powder. Garlic salt is seasoning mix and sugar is sometimes used as a seasoning...

Ridiculous. I am trying to cut out sugar because it makes me feel sick, and its everywhere. There are the obvious places, but theres no escaping it. Does anybody here know of any beef jersey that isnt jam-packed with sugar? These people want everybody to be fat and lazy.

Thing is, you kind of want some sugar content in your beef jerk to help cure it and help it dry. So between any barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey/molasses, or sometimes pineapple juice that often makes up part of the marinade for your jerky prior to the drying process, there's a lot of sugar already present in the production of beef jerky. I don't really know any substitutes there.
