If it isn't life threatening, search for a UC that accepts your plan. If it is life threatening, go to emergency room because your plan will cover it. I'm not aware of any decent plans that will give you an issue over going to an emergency room for a legitimate emergency.

i mean, if your plan doesn't copay ER, you're going to be up for whatever % your contract says you are

copay ER is not a large extra cost on your monthly bill but is worth the avoided headache

certianly i agree that you should search for a UC that takes your plan, but delaware is basically farmland. there was one UC for 30 miles so she went to the one that was available.

That's unfair. Doctors don't usually decide how much patients get charged.

they do give you bullshit treatments to keep milking you though.

Got an upper respiratory track infection? Why give you antibiotics? I'll send you back with an allergy or fly medicine! Yes, you won't get better, so you'll come back (bonus visit!), then I will give you some other bullshit symptoms management medicine. By this point the shit will hit the fan and you will get bronchitis or phneumonia, then I will finally give you antibiotics (bonus visit # 2!) , and you will need to come back again for follow up because pheumonia is no joke (bonus visit # 3!!).

^ I hear about this happening all the time

ROD, you have no idea what you're talking about. Please stop posting.

Awwwww somebody is still butthurt and attacking me with the ROD thing because I called him out for defending richard spencer. I guess Wall Street, the real estate market and your supermodel girlfriends kept you too busy for going back to the topic where you were defending Richard Spencer? lmao

Look, you can act like a child and hold grudges like a scorned grade school girl or you can behave like a grown up, stop with the e-drama and not pollute other threads with your petty grudges.

p.s. richard spencer is broke :D

You have no idea what you're talking about.

And conservative use of antibiotics is good evidence based medicine.

This is how hospitals pay for the tabs run up by thousands of poor people and illegals that pass through the ER and don't have coverage. This is essentially socialized medicine on an inefficient scale, so I'm surprised you guys are outraged.

to a point, yes.

But if the patient is coughing green phlegm, sneezing green boogers, his throat hurts and he has fevers, it's a pretty sure thing he has an infection. It makes no sense to give him benadryl, then flu medicine, and then go like "ok, here are the antibiotics you wanted" on the 3rd visit. It happens way too often to some people...

He always finds a way to whine about TEH LIBRULZ! and TEH MEXIANS! He is clearly obsessed by race, judging by that topic where he defended Richard Spencer over and over until people made fun of him:

Probably because the evidence shoes that most sinusitis is viral, and judicious use of antibiotics can select for resistant organisms in your nasal mucosa, making it harder to treat the next time.

Don't make statements of certainty about things you don't know.

Doesn't the fever and green phlegm and mucus pretty much mean there is a bacterial situation going on?

I am sure some doctors are really good. But many are crooks too. It happens with lawyers, politicians, etc too, I guess it's human nature

edit - it seems you edited this reasonable message I quoted with some more aggressive shit. Too bad, your previous message was good for continuing the discussion. The new one just makes me tune you out.

I'm sure it's correct that you were surprised over people thinking this sucks even though you consider it socialist, what I'm saying is that is an incredibly stupid take and that three or four seconds of reflection should clear up your confusion

Colored sputum and fever are not indicative of either a bacterial or viral infection.

She's an actual doctor, ROD. You're a CE lifer who spends 24/7 on this site and has made hundreds of accounts with differing gimmicks over your decade+ of posting here.

fwiw, and to back up coffeebeanz on this, i've had many genuine bacterial infections over the years (way more than a person should--my parents had some serious household issues), and the usual advice from my doctors was pretty consistent: wait several weeks to see if cold symptoms go away on their own with sufficient bedrest + fluids.

if they do not, generally broad spectrum antibiotics get prescribed. if i have had a cold for 3 weeks or more i get them no questions asked.

Keep peddling the ROD bullshit, buddy. A fake wall street hotshot, fake realtor and fake playboy has no room to talk on the "you're not a real ______, so you can't argue" topic.

You literally thought that debit cards couldn't be swiped in that one topic where you defended Richard Spencer, how is that for a wall street guy? lol
