I personally found Gotham's Joker to be a bit better in comparison to the movie ones, mind he had more time to actually become "fleshed out" likely being a big factor of that.

I can see some similarities with Ledger, but he reminded me more of the animated version. Ledger was pretty much just violent, the one in Gotham is downright goofy at times.
