The thing lots of people don't tell you is that losing weight when you're significantly overweight means you're going to have to live with being hungry all the time

All. The. Time.

I had a friend who was 350 at 6', and he lost about 30 lbs in a month (he was still eating about 3000 calories a day). But every time we talked his opener would be "dude I'm so hungry"

He gained it all back rather quickly when he decided he'd rather be not hungry than not fat

Limit urself to 20 carbs a day. Don't eat more than 20 carbs a day.
That means no more potatoes, wheat, rice, sugar, grains, candy, ice cream, bull shit junk food. etc. There is suger in so much stuff. You must eliminate starches all together. It might be hard at first but the results will make it worthwhile. Eventually your own body will start using your stored fat as energy. Your body will burn off the fat automatically. Just eat meat and some green veggies. Drink water or diet drinks if u must drink soda pop. Without cardio you will see changes within 2 to 3 weeks. You also need frequent exercise. It doesn't have to be intense or painful. Just take at least a 30-minute walk around your neighborhood. IIRC, you need at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day as an adult with an average diet, so just do that. It doesn't even have to be walking. Just do something you like that is physical, like swimming, hiking, biking, walking, etc.

This is strictly not true. Dieting (Or rather, improving your eating habits) is 90% of losing weight. Even a fairly vigorous workout can't come close to balacing out the calorie intake from a bad diet, and more insidiously, people who exercise without controlling their diet will often over-eat subconsciously because of the additional strain on their body.

Diet is everything for weight loss, exercise is for general health. Reducing calories are everything, but Intermittent Fasting and the Keto Diet are two well-tested "Diets" that can help lose fat by managing blood sugar level and insulin levels in your blood.
