Why risk investing money?</quote> Common misconception. There are plenty of fairly safe investments. Saving acct is low risk low yield, where your yield is guaranteed but it sucks. Something like an IRA or a mutual fund is medium risk medium yield, where you might lose today but over time there's basically no chance that you don't outpace a sacings account pretty drastically.
