I live in Las Vegas and kind of on the outer edges of town I've seen some animals kind of living and adapting around buildings. I work over by the red rock casino and around my office building I've seen rabbits, and some quail looking bird that is maybe a road runner or something.

Also, this morning when I took a walk in the community where I live we have an artificial lake with ducks and geese, but I found a duck carcass torn to bits, laying on it's back with its head not obvious present, feathers all over the place, and flies starting to gather in the open cavity where its stomach used to be. I walk around and say hey to everyone, and a lady with her dog says she's seen a few of those lately. She mentioned it's probably a stray dog or maybe a coyote or something. I saw a PBS documentary on coyotes, and that would maybe make sense since also in this neighborhood people usually release stray dogs into the public when it starts getting hotter, but they aren't hard to find. Coyotes are adapt at hiding out, and living among people unnoticed.

Has anyone else noticed some kind of wild animals other than birds (yeah, there's pigeons all over the place, and gulls on the coasts) inhabiting the urban areas where they live?
