It wasn't always like this you know, psn used to be moderately passable.

It's ironic that ps4 is so successful when its features (and lack thereof) are infuriating. The ps3 was awful in the beginning, but it got better. The opposite seems to be the case here...

I really think they still do it to force promote merchandise. Since a whole list pops up as you type each letter the hope is that you see sponsored content unrelated to what you want and impulse buy that too.

Or theyre just dumb.

I thought it was a ploy to get ps plus thinking that ps plus will give me the proper search feature again (like how youtube tried to promote youtube red with "no ads" campaign) but nope, it's garbage whether or not you have ps plus shit.

I hate how they keep making the store worse with every update to it, so annoying it's impossible to find things quickly now plus it takes forever to load up etc.

how are people so nonchalant about this terrible feature? That's the thing I can't fathom most, more so than the inclusion of this feature by Sony and subsequent removal of the logical way to search when there's a search bar (actually typing out the word of the game you are looking for)

i mean that makes sense though. Updates will generally be optimized for new tech. you can't expect older tech to run it just as well. They use the same store.

instead there were tons of crashes/freezes on top of the horrendously slow loading.

it was actually so bad that it couldn't be anything but a conscious effort to force people to move towards ps4.

The ps3 store was nearly unusable by the time the ps4 had been out a few months. It was easier to use a psp to buy things.

That's true, but outright removing a logical search feature is such a big fuck you to people that my jaw drops everyday at how mute the ps4 audience is about it and how it's never once been changed or restored to the at least moderately workable version in the past 4 years.

And yet, the ps4 is exactly the same psn garbage. It still uses that one letter at a time search feature.

It only works well if you have a USB keyboard attached to your system. Otherwise, ass.

The Japanese PSN store lets you actually type stuff out. There's none of that letter nonsense the US store has.
