Jogress is just normal digivolution powered by a battery.... its not fusion. (Another type completely). Gatomon, Angemon, and Stingmon have nothing to do with Sylphimon, Shakoumon, or Paildramon except it is their data and TK's Kari's and Ken's power being used as a battery so the other can Digivolve to the next form. It is stated MULTIPLE times in the Ryo games that those 10 are stronger than ALL other partners. It's important to note 2 things... 1: the games (at least the ones I'm talking about) are 100% canon to the Adventuere Universe, and in fact referenced in 02 (and Tamers.... but that's a different story.. 2: This is (obviously) after the 02 kids have been in the anime. Now, how do I know that Paildramon, Sylphimon and Shakkoumon are their actual Ultimates forms and have ZERO to do with Angemon, Gatomon and Stingmon except they are using TK's Ken's and Kari's crest power to do it. Well, because when Ryo (one of the stated 10) has Cody's Armidillomon (so not some random one) Yolei's Hawkmon, and Davis's Veemon under his charge he is able to get them Shakkoumon, Sylphimon, and Paildramon as their standard Ultimate forms, no jogress, no DNA, no battery, his own fucking power. He can get them Ultimate. Let's go further for the fuck of it. How does Jogress work in ALL games, it's an digivolution utilizing the data of 2 Digimon to make the weaker one digivolve up levels. Or in other words.... If I had a level 55 Greymon and a level 49 Angemon Jogress, I will get Holy/MagnaAngemon everytime. Now how is strength determined in the Adventure universe.... why, it's the users emotions combined with the Digimons data. They are all Champion level.... So that means once again, Davis, Yolei, and Cody are weaker than Ken, Kari, and TK, hence its their Digimon that level up and why Ken, Kari, and TK's crest powers are used as a battery. Which makes sense..... SINCE THOSE TEN ARE LITERALLY SINGLED OUT AS SUPERIOR IN THE WONDERSWAN GAMES. Ryo can get them to their normal Ultimate level, they can't. Of the 12 (13 if you include Ryo's "partner") partner Digimon of the 13 most (or 13 out of 14 now with Meiko I guess) prominent characters of the Adventure Universe, all 13 have been Mega form, 11 under control of their partner, 10 by their own power The only of the 13 to never be in charge when their Digimon achieved Mega was Cody and Yolei. Only 3 partners never achieved Mega (or even Ultimate) for their partner Digimon through their own power. Davis, Yolei, Cody... They aren't special. They are just normal partners. They don't have immense power. Realistically they shouldn't be able to, at least given previous writing. But I kinda do want to rail on this for a second. I have NO problem with Yolei and Cody being nothing. None, their story didn't say they should be, they had no real connection with the 01 crew, etc. Them being standard Partners like everyone else on Earth, fine, whatever. I do have a problem with Davis (or at least Daisuke.... I hate Davis...) being treated as a run of the ill anyone could have done it guy. I feel it is bad writing in the anime/comics he is not also labeled as one with immense power. He was blessed by god's.... TWICE. He had a direct connection with Tai. Tai chose him to lead the new team. His courage is close to Tai's (bordering on unhealthy actually) and his Friendship power if nothing else should Supercede Matt's. Veemon was able to use the Digiegg of Miracles (which had to do with the crest of Kindness). He and he alone was able to overcome MaloMyotismon and cause what transpired on Million points of light. And there are other various little things throughout the series. I'm not denying canon here, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say "in my head canon Davis is as strong as the 10" just that I think in not trying to single out Yolei and Cody as being just normal partners with no real powers to speak of, that they threw Davis in 2 and just made the blanket statement only you (Ryo and Ken) and the 8 Chosen Children have this type of power so as not to kill any and all merchandise for Cody and Yolei in Japan from here on out.
