TV version of the Shining was great.

I don't think you can use the word "best" as much as "faithful"... the It miniseries leaves almost nothing out from the book. I'd even say it is better than the book because it leaves out a lot of creepy subplots. Not even the much-mentioned orgy, but Bowers is significantly, and gratuitously, racist in the book, King goes on and on about it when it's just like, "I get it, he's the bad guy." And I don't think anyone can top Tim Curry's performance in that.

Also not a movie but there were a few stories from the Nightmares and Dreamscapes anthology that were pretty good.
