80/80

Every morning she comes to our room, starts knocking on the door and calling "dad". She will start knocking louder if we don't answer fast enough. She then gets in the bed and usually the first thing she does is punch me in the face (she loves boxing, if you so much as say "boxing", she puts her hands up and starts throwing punches), then tries to tickle me followed by a hug and kiss.

I don't think I've slept more than 6 hours for months now.

A cat would be far, far cheaper.

Just tell her about the faceless being that watches her when she sleeps. Tell her it wants to eat her.

She isn't at that stage of understanding what we say yet. Simple commands like "pinch daddies nose" sure but that is it.

630 sounds like about the right time to wake up tbh.

But that's aside the point. What have you done to help her understand?

2 might be a little young still. I think my son was about 3 maybe. We put a clock in his room and taught him that he could wake us after 7. Until then he had to stay in his room and play or whatever. Took a little while but it worked.

My friend's kid has been waking him up around 5 every morning and it's hilarious how he's telling me how he's a morning person.

6 hours isn't too bad. Just go to bed earlier. My sister and her husband go to bed at like 8-9 because the kids wake up early lol.

I wonder if maybe the reason kids wake up so early is because adults put them to sleep at like 7-8.

Kids need lots of sleep but yes, a 8 or 9 bedtime will result in an early riser. Kids don't really understand sleeps and babies need to be taught to not just sleep whenever and be up all night.

She usually doesn't pass out until 10-11 at the earliest most nights. If she sleeps more than 8 hours it is a miracle.

I have 2 jobs. One that has me at school from 8am to 4pm and then I teach online in the evenings. If I went to bed at 9 I'd never get any time to myself. Usually 9-12ish is my time to smoke, play some games and relax.

Kids don't really sleep properly until they start schools or something. You can do everything by the books but they kind of run on their clock.
