So, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering on Friday. I received a bit of money from relatives and have a decent amount in my savings, and the cost of a base model Vive to me when using the money I received from relatives is less than $200. That's not a terrible price for one.

Things to consider though:

1. I seem to have the worst luck with technology.
2. The room where I would use the Vive is kinda cramped with my desk so I'm not sure if I can get the 6'6" x 5' area the Vive needs, but there is a possibility I can.

All that said, I am still sitting here giving serious consideration to buying one. This usually happens every couple of months, but this time I have fewer reasons not to and I am sitting on the fence now leaning toward buying one.

Full room scale is the most important thing about the Vive so it's a hard no if you can't utilize that. Also just because people gave you the money doesn't mean it doesn't count. The Vive is still $800 that you could use for other things.

Are there any specific games you want to use the Vive for or do you just want to play VR generally? Because PSVR just got a price drop and if you get that and find out the space you have isn't ideal for it, that's a lot less money up the wall. Plus, less to go wrong technologically.

Still the number one reason for the success of the Internet.

There's always hope for better things in life. But you can't let anything, friend, lover,God himself,be your hope. You have to be your own hope
