If I could choose any pet, I'd feel shitty but probably go for the gecko... he has outlived his expected lifespan by about 5 years and has some health issues.

For most the pet is a very beloved member of the family, and killing said pet is not doable as the family and pet genuinely love each other.... Dogs especially fall in this category.... Random pets like goldfish and stuff aren't included and I'd have no moral issues killing a pet goldfish

He's not smart enough to have any idea about that. Just smart enough to understand that someone he loved and trusted is about to hurt him.

I hit him in the head with a ball once and felt sick for days.

And I'll already live the rest of my life comfortably, so 1bil, while great to have, isn't a huge difference to me lifestyle wise.

I mean my pops made me put our dog down with a .22 when I was 9 and that wasn't even for money but because where we were moving to wouldn't allow pets.

while yes you are fitting the typical internet edgelord trope just fine, and this is gamefaqs which is basically an internet hell hole that is addictive as hell, for most people i think you are right.

i think most people if you actually showed them the 1 billion dollars and waved it in front of their face, most would do far more than just kill and eat their pet, human history and psychology would tell us, most would probably eat their own damn kids for that kind of money. money and by extension the power it brings, makes most people cave. go look at what most people do who are rich....they tend to abuse that kind of power. us peasants are no different than them, we are all humans made up of the same biological stuff.

due to reasons i will not get into, i feel 100% confident in my answer that no i would not kill and eat any of my pets i've had over the years. the last two we had, one had to put to sleep and that was hard enough. but thats not the primary reason why i am confident in my no answer.

so yes, edgelord you might be, but i don't think you're wrong. it is really easy to take the moral high horse when you don't have to actually back it up....in this case no one is actually offering you a billion dollars.

I don't have a pet at the moment and I ate not too long ago.

Honestly i'm not being an edgelord. I've had this discussion before and have thought about it quite a bit. I'm able to be honest with myself about mine and others tendencies as humans. I'm able to leave bias at the door.
