I never got why the show was so huge but if you haven't seen his standup you don't really have a valid opinion on him.

He came here and I got free tix and he was surprisingly funny.

I preferred Richard Pryor over Bill Cosby.

I'm glad he got rid of his prop performances in his early years of stand-up. R.I.P in piece.

He was one of the first comedians I ever listened to, I really loved his work. He had a great sense of hyperbole and it was really fun and I think really affected the landscape of modern comedy. Beyond that, I think having a black man who, as an entertainer, appeared so wholesome and loving and fun was great for the black community (even if it did dip into respectability politics)

But goddamn hes a monster.

My aunt and grandma watch the Cosby Show but when I was a kid, I just didn't get into it. It wasn't that great of a show to me. I was watching Three's Company, I Love Lucy, Good Times, Family Matters, Saved By the Bell, and Prince of Bel-Air but never did I sit there and enjoy and episode of Cosby Show. I tried watching it now but never liked it.

Never hated Bill Cosby though...

From what I can remember, a lot of the show was just Cosby giving kids long-winded, semi-nonsensical speeches / stories, so I definitely share the same sentiment as TC. It had some funny moments, but for the most part it didn't leave a great impression.

He was active in the 70s and 80s mainly. You know who else was active in those decades? George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Rodney Dangerfield, Steve Martin, all very funny today. You can't really blame it on the decade.
