so just keep wishing for more and more oil?

you're just making people dependent on you and not actually solving anything

actually the infinite generation of resources from nothing is solving plenty but I understand it's just a movie and they needed a motive for thanos

what if you're not always around? what if you lose the glove or gems? we saw that the snap pretty much overloaded the glove and wrecked it. what if wishing for more resources puts similar strain on it?

The argument might be that the Infinity Stones don't create matter. Even when fighting on Titan he never conjured matter to fight with, he just manipulated what was already around.

Nothing with the Infinity Stones has shown the ability to just create matter

true

though I would argue the reality gem could maybe create matter but I'm a bit unclear on that

given its effects in the film it's obvious it needs constant concentration to work properly so it wouldn't really be possible to use it to create actual real resources

That just basically makes people see what Thanos wants them to see/feel/experience. It's not a real change.

Otherwise why wouldn't Thanos completely rewrite what happened on Titan and bring that back?

That would be kind of a waste imo, since they've built up Hulk's newfound fear of getting his ass whooped, which he'll most likely work through during Part 2.

Nah. They said that Hulk has a trilogy that takes place in Ragnarok, IW and A4. They're not gonna kill him off. Plus they left all of the original Avengers alive for a reason.

I kept waiting for Hulk to come bursting out of the Hulkbuster's chest.

Also Tom Holland was fucking incredible at the end.

And I loved that the main character in this movie was Thanos. He saved the universe the only way he thought he could, hung up his armor, and sat down to watch a peaceful sunset. Dude literally has godlike powers but was satisfied.

I didn't expect to sympathize with him at all. Especially after watching him beat the shit out of Hulk and kill Loki.

The scene after the snap...

"Did you do it?"
"Yes."
"What did it cost?"
"......Everything."

So fucking good. Fuck I can't wait to watch it again.

Mostly right.

Hulk got trashed hard. Thor nearly killed Thanos with all six gems in the gauntlet in his second shot at Thanos though the first time he was trashed.
Dr Strange put up a damn good fight against Thanos with 4 gems. Iron man as well. And a mix of characters in a Thanos vs team match nearly beat him with 4 gems. else got effortlessly trashed. Cap, Black Panther, Loki, etc.)

thinking a little bit more on it, it makes sense that they can't travel too far with the portals given what we've seen
in GotG 2 there's a character with Sylvester Stallone who is also doing the light mandalas like Strange and Wong, I assume they're a sorcerer too. if so, then there would be more of an inter-galactic community of sorcerers instead of just humans if they were capable of jumping between planets

Remember in Ragnarok, when he teleported Thor and Loki to Odin? He needed some of Thor's hair, so maybe teleporting isn't as simple as thinking of a place and opening a portal.

Maybe he has to know where he's going...or maybe its easier if it involves one's genetics? Like since Odin is Thor's father, using his hair, he could trace where Odin is and bring them there.

I don't think Loki is actually dead.

Didnt he already "die" before.

Didnt he already produce injuries on Thor before?

Isnt he after all something like Thor, with enough sturdiness to survive in space?

Really the god of mischief and we think the best way to take him out is a strangling.

True. Strange feels really underwhelming compared to what he should be doing though. At least to me.

I think the point they were going for was that Thanos seemed more than capable of dealing with Strange's shenanigans

In Thor Ragnarok, Strange was making entire rooms appear / change / disappear without even moving a muscle. He completely manhandled Thor and Loki like they were children who didn't understand what was happening. In his movie he was folding dimensions, stopping / reversing time at a ridiculous scale, etc.

Then nameless baddy minion in Infinity War appears onscreen and none of that at all. He can barely move shit, his teleport shenanigans don't do crap, and he doesn't even count as second fiddle to Iron Man, who, as I remember, didnt even use his backup suits.

It's not that Thanos was capable of dealing with his shenanigans. They nerfed him hard in that movie so that the Black Army(?) could be a believable threat.

I see you don't understand context. He made rooms change in HIS OWN BUILDING. Not anywhere else.

He needed A LOT of movement to do any of that dimension stuff. He got restrained quickly before he could make said movements. Same with time. TK is a hard counter to him.

I don't believe so. They've actually come out and said they're not revealing any future movies until Comic Con next year.

I think Spider-man Homecoming 2 has been talked about though.

But even without movie announcements I think people would know certain characters wouldn't be gone for good. They've actually dusted away most of the safe characters for the next movie.

Ok there was only one line that I didn't think was written as funny as it could've been

When Groot and Captain America meet

Groot says "I am Groot"
Steve says "I am Steve Rogers"

I wish he had just said, "I am Steve."

Saying Steve Rogers, he felt like he had to rush the line a bit, and there wasn't continuity in the two lines, as Groot went first name, but Cap went first name + last name.

ja feel?

Common sense kinda tells you that these characters that died after the snap are going to come back. It wasn't supposed to be a "Oh shit everyone's dead for good" type of moment. But seeing them die regardless of what happens next definitely still has an effect on the audience.

Idk I mean yeah I agree it still was a little jarring, but in the back of my mind, knowing A4 was a thing (not to mention character-specific sequels), it kinda soured it for me.

Unrelated point, you knew shit was real when there wasn't the normal music over the Marvel "flipbook" opening
