They are randomly inspecting every unit in the building. After inspecting mine they straight up asked me if I knew where the smell was coming from, and to please report it to them because theres a strict non-smoking policy at this apartment complex.

But realistically, if they smell weed at someones place, what can they do? Is that evidence enough to evict them? Thats so subjective too.

I didn't like it at first cuz I'm on night shift and now I had to plan my day around this stupid inspection, meaning wake up earlier than normal.

this is a red flag to move out before they force you to.

They will hunt you down (no joke). It's just never going to work, better to plan ahead then get a 7 days notice.

i have to be on my best behavior for the new owner of the apartment, going to inspect the places soon and hopefully not raise the rent as it's high enough as it is (they already evicted a guy who didn't pay his rent in over 3 months).

they can't get much more than 800$ for a crappy apartment (it's about spot on for apartment prices around here).
at least laundry and electricity is free can't complain about that.

At my old apartment complex the landlord was legally obliged to give a days warning at minimum that they were going to enter our apartment for any reason on their own accord (in other words, with their master key). But laws vary wildly with apartments from state to state.
