It seems that everything just levels with you and you never get powerful like in the Souls games.

BB it's actually easy to over level in the first play through

Pretty sure enemies don't scale in Bloodborne. It's just not as easy to get super powerful in BB through leveling like it is in DS.

For defense and using certain weapons, yes.

For damage, no. You're better off using powerful gems.

Enemies in the beginning area are taking the same amount of hits as the first time I went through it.

You should have leveled your weapons. Thats where most of your damage comes from

Leveling Vitality is a good idea because vials heal based on percentage. Endurance isn't super necessary (I've never put it past 22) unless you find yourself running out of Stamina often. You don't see very significant gains when leveling the damage stats until later on when your weapon is upgraded.

it wouldn't be the first time fromsoft has done something like it, but i *am* comparing it to anything-goes dark souls 2.

you are never put into a situation where you can't really easily run by them. they are intentionally way stronger than just about anything around them whenever you find them

This is a good game but nowhere near as fun as the Souls series. I am level 34 and I feel like I did when I started out.

if you level up an attribute that scales well with the weapon that you use, you should be noticing some decent damage.

make sure to level up the weapon, too, and using blood gems really helps.

like with the cane, if you level up skill, you should be taking out earlier enemies with two or three hits by the level you're in

Bloodborne is better than any Souls game that doesn't have "Demon's" in front of it.

You just have no idea what you're doing. Smarten up, upgrade your weapons properly, realize that it's not all about damage dealing but knowing how to properly avoid taking it as well, farm some nice gems when that becomes available, and you'll see a world of difference.

Enemies don't scale, dude. They have flat stats for each playthrough. The only 'scaling' that gets done is when you start a new cycle.

If you beat BSB, take the chalice he drops and go ahead and complete depth 1 and maybe even 2. You'll get much better gems to put into your weapons than anything in the main game until the very end. You should also be finding twin bloodstone shards about now. Upgrade as soon as you can to put more gems in your weapon.

IF you really want to feel "strong" and cheese some things, head over to the Cathedral Ward. After beating BSB, the door that opens to right leads to a tower. At the top you'll find the Radiant Hunter badge. With this, you can buy Ludwig's Holy Blade from the bath messengers in the Hunters dream. It's a big ass greatsword that slays everything. I don't like it personally because it's a boring weapon imo, but it's hella strong.

I think if you're disappointed by weak levels up in the Souls series you're playing the wrong game. It's an action game first, RPG second.

I enjoyed DS1 the most so far because I was able to build an almost unstoppable tank. It just seems much harder to do in Bloodborne.

Bloodborne is a different series, with the main change being offense is key. These games are about gettin gud not leveling up.

Google how to get the Ludwig's Holy Blade. Backtrack to get it. Upgrade it as much as you can. Enjoy easy mode.
