He's complained pretty much all year that there have been no big releases in 2018 and that's why his stream views have been down. Now a huge game that is getting rave reviews has been released, and his views are still down. It's almost as if the games he is playing are not the real problem here.

DSP is too self-aware, too controlled now. I popped into his stream yesterday and it was boring as shit. Also long ago when he was bad he'd have fun with it and make jokes now he's just angry all the time and clearly not having fun. Hard to watch.

That's another thing, if he finds a way to "cheese" certain parts of a game he will do nothing but that and it's very boring as well. He also rushes through dialogue/story and even the game itself when he can.

That's another thing, if he finds a way to "cheese" certain parts of a game he will do nothing but that and it's very boring as well. He also rushes through dialogue/story and even the game itself when he can.

And he still doesn't understand why people prefer to watch the "detractor" videos, where they take the few interesting parts of him raging and looking stupid and cut out the boring filler that is 99% of his playthroughs.

I think it was around 500 or 600 (which tends to drop as the stream goes on). It was about the same as he usually gets, but he was expecting a lot higher. He was actually getting better views with his Bloodborne redemption run.

Well there's probably so many people streaming it, big names too, that people would probably rather watch them than DSP.

DSP is one of those people that's bad at games and then blames the game and gets genuinely angry at them.

I feel like at this point, DSP should just play along with his online persona, but I also feel like he'll fuck that up and make it unfunny.

If anything good or useful has come from the adpocalypse, it's the realization that playing videogames is not really a viable career choice.

I think it can still be a career, but it's the sort of thing very few people can do successfully. DSP's problem is that he doesn't have the skills necessary to do this as a career. He isn't good at video games, he doesn't even seem to like to play video games anymore, and he isn't entertaining or even interesting otherwise.

AVGN is doing it right. Arin and Danny need to try a little harder. Everyone doing even less than that just needs to rethink life.

It's definitely not something anyone can just pick up and do. If playing video games for a living was easy, then everyone would be doing it.
