That other pedophile topic is about a Cracked article. I dont really feel like talking about the merits of pedophile discussion. No, what I want to talk about is how far Cracked has fallen and why.

I was an avid reader for years, loved DOB and Swaim and all the columnists really. I remember why I stop going, the two I mentioned started doing more live action stuff, which I enjoyed, but content didn't come out fast enough, their site video player sucked and the newer columnists weren't that funny.

The straw that broke the camels back was the stupid Zoe Quinn article they let her post right in the middle of Gamergate that basically called all gamers a bunch of silly names reserved for 5th graders. I deleted the bookmark and left.

I randomly stumbled across the site early this year and holy shit they suck now. I don't even know how they make money with that trash site. Does anyone who knows what actually happened want to fill me in?

Cracked earlier this year fired a bunch of people and stopped making any video content. Cracked's focus is more to have other people write for them and when anyone can pretty much submit an article quality becomes inconsistent.

I think Adam Tod Brown's pretentious and self-righteous posting, and his tendency to bask in the fact that old readers hated his charged and biased content, marked the no-turning-back for Cracked.

I used to have the free app, it was a bizarre day that the content had fallen so far that I deleted it.

They more and more started to change article titles from the original once or twice a day to increase clickbait power. For example there was one about possible feminist themes in Portal 2 (which I think had some stretches as well as inaccuracies on the lore) eventually called something like "6 Crazy Feminist Easter Eggs in Portal 2."

What a dumpster fire

It really is crazy. Watching it get worse in real time and eventually leaving was surreal

I still enjoy cracked, but not as much as I use to. I like their silly articles about pop culture, mysteries, tech and easter eggs. What I didn't like was when they started getting political. It was a website I went to for strange and awesome humour, so when they tried putting their two cents in on social issues and politics, I was like, "naw dog." I want dumb comedy and a way to distract my brain from the awfulness that is the world, not have it polluting one of my favourite websites.
