Christopher Lyle said he's tired of the discrimination against him.

A video obtained by NJ.com appears to show Howard Finkelstein, a professor at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey, yelling at the 23-year-old student in class and telling him "fuck your life" on April 11. Lyle told the outlet that he argued people can be sexually assaulted regardless of gender and that Finkelstein went into a rant after the student tried to give a personal example.

The college student said this is far from the first time his sociology professor has singled him out for his conservative beliefs during class, which is titled "Sociology 105, Intercultural Communication:
The Person and the Process."

Hes constantly called me into his office," Lyle told Fox News, "and told me I cant speak in his class because of my beliefs. ... He constantly talks about white privilege and how I have privilege because Im a white male. I dont believe that. I work 50 hours a week and attend class, and he tells me to shut the fuck up.

Lyle also alleged in an interview with NJ.com that Finkelstein has said the student's conservative ideals are "the reason America is not great" and ordered him to "shut up" during class.

Finkelstein didn't answer a request for comment from both NJ.com and The Asbury Park Press.

Joey Smith, another student in the sociology class, said he sometimes disagrees with Lyle's conservative beliefs. But the 26-year-old student told The Asbury Park Press that Finkelstein has a fixation on the conservative student that reduces the quality of the class.

Chris is a part of his lesson plan, Smith said. Hell ask Chris a question, then try to convince Chris in front of the class what is right and wrong.

Joey Smith, the student who filmed the incident, described Finkelstein's behavior in a similar way as Lyle.

Smith said it seemed as though Finkelstein would ask controversial questions specifically to trigger reactions from Lyle, then forced him to answer.

Smith said Finkelstein spends most classes focusing his questions on Lyle even when Lyle was not in the classroom.

That wasn't the point of the story, a presented attitude or even remotely how it went.

The story begins when the professor insists that everyone admit that "God is dead." The student says "I can't do this because I'm a Christian," and the professor calmly says "well then, I'll give you the opportunity to defend your belief" and they have some debates with a lot of eye rolling, and a little court drama flair at the end before the class unanimously decides that God is not dead, leaving the professor with a frowny face.

The professor does proceed to get hit by a car though, lol.

Of course, the presentation is that he was going to get hit by the car anyway but his discussion encouraged him to think about eternity and turn his life over to God just before he dies.

This story has gotten such huge attention that I doubt the professor will be there for long. Good riddance.

The professor is doing a disservice for himself not answering questions. From looking at the students perspective, the student is in the right. The professor is not acting professional at all and shouldn't be singling out just one student as part of a lesson plan, that can be seen as bullying.

And secondly, this isn't a case of this student being offended because he's a sensitive nancy. He's being berated by an idiot professor who's acting emotionally and unprofessionally. The conservative thing to do in this case is remedy the situation by getting the incompetent professor shitcanned.

I mean, the video evidence itself seems to suggest the student is just over-reacting ("fuck your life" seemed to be an inappropriate way to say "I'm not talking about your life here, we're discussing something else", but it's really impossible to say because all the context is cut off).

Not that any of this matters since it's a community college "professor" anyway.

The biggest reason for this is because the Professor hasn't told his side of the story yet, but maybe was advised by his lawyer or something to not give any comment about the incident. But we did get a second hand account from another student, so the truth might not be that far off.
