A grade 11 student killed herself during final exams in the beginning of March at the school I was working at. They said she walked out of class and jumped over the railing 5 floors to her death. The worst part is the school is trying to keep it quiet. I only found out about it because another teacher knew about it and they had asked her not to tell anyone.

Tbh, it didn't surprise me. Asian schools put way too much pressure on these kids, doesn't shock me in the least that one would take their life, especially at this school.

Seems like after I graduated HS it didn't take long for former school mates to start dying at least a dozen have passed by now and Im only 24.

So? Plenty of people try. Dont get all up in arms. Your local institutions will try to keep it quiet too. Fuck the social stigma of caring while also not giving a shit until it benefits them financially.

Tbh, a close call with suicide can make things better. For some people, myself included, it was when I realized I needed help. 8 years ago I thought the only way out was ending it, now I'm the happiest I've ever been. If I would have killed myself (stuck a loaded rifle in my mouth one night with my finger on the trigger) then my beautiful little girl would not exist and that alone makes me extremely grateful.

Shortly after graduating high school and soon into my first college semester, I was at a restaurant with my family when I came across a guy from my high school who I would occasionally talk with when we were in school. We spoke for a bit at the restaurant and I asked him how his time at college was. He said he wasn't really enjoying it. Then a couple months later I found out he had killed himself. It was pretty sad. He had always been a quiet person, but generally nice from my experiences with him. It's been like five years since that happened now.

An acquaintance of mine actually did kill himself in High School. From what I was told, he tried to be civil with his ex and had her sign his yearbook. She signed "kill yourself" and he did. Of course, that was just a rumor so that may not have been the reason.

Sorry, I was drunk. Ive been suffering from chronic depression my entire life and it has t been a solid week if I havent had one thought of just ending it. I get it. I really do. But if someone is serious about ending it, theyll end it. Attempts are, point blank, cries for help because they dont really want to go. They want someone to care. And they do, for a bit. But only for a bit. When they can sleep easy without worrying about that person. Its a fucked cycle.

in 10th grade, my biology teacher wasn't in class for 3 weeks. the sub didn't want to talk about why.

when my teacher came back, he didn't want to talk about it either. he seemed different though, we call could tell... just wasn't his usual, joking, happy self....

a year later, i found out through one of my friends that his son committed suicide. i looked up the obituary, and it was true. he was in college when it happened. not sure exactly how he did it or why, but after that, my teacher just wasn't the same since.
