I don't know why anyone would think that kind of character is funny. He's just nice all the time, and they don't do anything funny with it. I found him amusing, if only because in college I was seen as that guy. Optimistic all the time. Then I hit a similar low point as him and then became more balanced later on. So I guess I can relate.
