No. It's acting.
The truly obnoxious actors are the ones who refuse to participate in fiction that depicts something they're against somehow. For some reason the first example I can think of is Casey Kasem demanding that Shaggy go vegetarian.

Aside from rape Id say most movies or tv shows do glorify and sensationalize violence. So yes, depending on how they play the character they very well could be a hypocrite.

I think its one of those interesting philosophical questions that's fun to debate. There's no right or wrong answer.

I disagree. They are paid to play a role that someone else writes for them. Unless it's a documentary that they are participating in to make a point, a fictional role is just that. Fictional. I tihnk the only exception to this argument would be any kind of pornographic or romantic role.

Anything in their daily life outside of whatever role they played is what should be taken into consideration regarding whatever belief they might have (and whether they're hypocrites with that belief).

And if it is a documentary, pitching a diva-fit over something that actually happened is even more obnoxious.

Lemme put it this way. Id think most people would find it odd if Keanu Reeves was on the red carpet for the premier of John Wick 3 and he was talking about the horrors of gun violence in America.

Not saying he wouldnt be correct, just saying based off his character itd seem a little strange.

It's just acting.

I will say though that people need to read up on basic gun stuff.

Someone I know was complaining how semi automatics were legal and then said "Just buy a pistol if you really want a gun, nobody needs that military grade stuff"
