Not gonna lie
I also didn't think it was that impressive as a kid but I was already spoiled by DisneyLand. I don't even remember how we wound up there and I think we only spent a couple hours there.

It's changed a lot I think? I don't remember so many rollercoasters.

Also looking at videos of the coasters and the tracks on the wooden coasters look rusty and worn down/dirty in places, kinda creepy >_>. Maybe that's how all wooden coaster tracks look and I just didn't notice.

It was a Hershey Kiss themed ride where you basically went through the process of how a Hershey Kiss is made, and you go through "the oven" where they bake it and it's actually heated inside. And at the end you got a free Hershey Kiss >_>.

I'm torn between thinking it was a cool concept and sort of a ghetto version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and then also I can't stop thinking about the implications of such a ride when compared to the Holocaust.

I guess when you're a kid it's a cool thing though. I thought it was

You're thinking of Chocolate World, which is separate from the main park. It;s a ride that shows you how the chocolate is made (obviously with some cute flair), and get a piece of chocolate at the end.

The coasters are awesome. The wooden ones are fantastic. It's honestly a different kind of thrill, and the rattling makes it better. The newer ones each break several world records in various categories at the time they're made, and those are a blast too. My favorite is the Storm Runner, which at the time of opening had the fastest acceleration from 0 to 60mph. They've got the Fahrenheit (sharpest at the first drop, 97 degrees) and Sky Rush (most open space around each seat), which make the lines for Storm Runner totally reasonable now.

I don't remember the oven ride. I lived on the east coast in the 80's and very early 90's and maybe that was before it got made. then I moved west. last time I was in Hershey Park was at least 1991 at the latest. guess it's a newer ride

going by their wiki page, they did a lot of updates to the park. I guess they got enough complaints that it was fuckin boring.

Their attractions started opening around 2012-2016 so yeah they did a lot of work in those 4 years. Can't say I've really been to HP recently so it would make sense. Only thing I remember is the walk, a few rides, the food court being with a shopping store, and jolly rancher soda

They've been adding high thrill coasters for longer than that. That's when they mass renovated the water park. It had the largest "water play structure" in the world. They had a massive lazy river, and some slides and shit too. Unfortunately, it cost us the river rapids ride (though I heard they have have built a new one now).

The Great Bear isn't as scary as the others, but it's actually really fun. It's hard to pin down exactly what's so great about it.

I stopped by Chocolate World last summer, they had changed some stuff up in it (it's no longer the endless "It's the milk chocolate" song) and added a bunch of monitors reflecting on glass to make "holograms" of characters explaining the processes and whatnot, but it was still the same basic ride and I believe you still get a small candy bar at the end.

I work maybe 15 minutes from Hershey Park.

It's a cool place to go as far as amusement parks go.

As someone else said I think you are thinking of Chocolate World where they show you how chocolate is made on a little ride thing and you get candy at the end.
