3 hours is not long enough in my opinion. It's definitely not good from a participation standpoint, since it gives people a very narrow window of time if they want to get in at least one set of saves. 3 hours can go by pretty quick and some people might be unlucky and not get a chance to show up during the round. This is much less of a problem when the rounds are 4 hours or longer.

Even having a phone wouldn't save you from the possibility of being asleep during the entire round, which could be possible for those in non-US timezones. Longer rounds would give these people more time to wake up and get in at least one set of saves.

The last time I ever missed a round was during the 2015/2016 Save My Pokemon contest where I didn't have access to the internet during a trip down to Florida (and back home again).

I didn't complain about that. I did suggest increasing the saves per hour from 2 to 3 to keep the rounds around 4-5 hours instead of 6 hours, but that shouldn't be interpreted as complaining about the length of rounds. I figured some people wouldn't like 6 hour rounds, so I put in that suggestion. I didn't have a problem with 6 hour rounds.
