I don't know why the manager chose to do what she did. Sure, I could assume that she made the decision because of their race, but I have no way of knowing what was actually going on in her head.

But the biggest problem is that it doesn't matter why she chose to do it. Even if she did, in fact, do it because she's racist and has a problem with black people, the only thing that matters is that's how people interpreted it. The moment the story made the news, everything that's happened from then on is just a PR move and nothing more.

It seems highly unlikely that a woman who manages a store in Philadelphia -- where black people are the majority racial group -- isn't constantly seeing black people come into the store all day long. I might be more generous in believing this was racism based on these limited facts if this was Kentucky, but it seems like a stretch for Philly.

You do realize Philly has areas that are overwhelmingly white, right? Just because the city as a whole is majority black doesn't mean every neighborhood is.

If you were racist why would you work and live in a majority Black area? You can not be racist and be so. This is stupid and you're wrong. The Manager was an innocent person discriminated against.

People sit in Starbucks all day everyday. I've never once heard of someone being kicked out like this. The manager also did NOT ask them to leave before calling police.

Stop making excuses and call it what it is.

Even if it was, is it fair for the entire country to now black-ball this person? Is it fair that this person will now struggle to find a job for the rest of their life? When...we live in a world where murderers are rehabilitated and allowed back in society?

She deserved to lose her job though. This kind of publicity is an absolute nightmare for Starbucks. Even more so when you think about their brand image. This will cost them millions in damage control. The fucking CEO came to that location looking to personally apologize to the guys.

It's not that she's racist. It's the fact that her racism led to an awful decision that had a huge negative impact on the entire company. She lacks the awareness to hold a management position.

Those eye witnesses were lying. They were too afraid to be seen as racist or got paid off. I've learned in my life, as a white man, to always give ground. I can't disagree with them I can't argue, i can't talk down to them or I'm a racist and will lose my job. How do people still justify this?
