I dont know how the conversation started. I started listening when I heard fortnite.

D40: so whats fortnite? I saw my son downloaded that game.
D29: a free to play shooter game. But it looks cartoonish.
D40: so it is kind of a gateway drug to the real thing?
D29: drug? Just stop.
D40: what?
D29: You are probably citing the report from tv last week.
(Apparently there was a report or something about how shooter games are bad and people get addicted and aggressive when playing last week on tv)
D40: people who play those games are sick. You just kill people.
D29: in this game you play against 99 other people and you need to collect stuff and survive until the end. Battle royal is it called.
D40: so how is it free? There probably is a time where you cant play anymore when you dont pay money. How else are they going to earn money?
D29: i dont know for sure. (Tells him how it is in other ftp games because he never played fortnite himself)
D40: so you have to pay sometime in the future? My son hasnt payed anything yet.
D29: probably yeah.
D42: people who play shooter games are sick. They are probably the next ones that bring a gun to school.

I didnt think there were people that out of touch with everything.
Call of duty and stuff is one of the best selling games each year and nobody is shooting up people here.
Also how can one think that in this day and age a 7 year old console is better than a current pc?

It's like having an argument about Coca-cola vs other sodas in general.

I mean if you picked Coke vs Mtn Dew for example, you could say, like, I prefer Mtn Dew because of the citrus flavor, and then everyone would be like "oh, that makes sense, because he just has a preference or whatever."

But when you just say Coke vs other sodas, there's no discussion to even have.

So like, I prefer PS3 because it has Infamous, and now everyone can say "oh that makes sense" instead of just going durr garfix when I don't even care about playing in 3869284x3uw95868402 resolution in the first place.
