So, Feebas is only located on Route 119. You find it by fishing in one of only 6 random locations in the route, out of like 400 fishing spots. These spots change when you change the four word catchphrase in Dewford Town. This I already knew.

In 2003, I couldn't find Feebas, so my friend changed my catchphrase to match his and then told me to go to Route 119. He led me to the fishing spot that worked for him, I tried it, and it worked. Feebas was there.

What I didn't know was that changing the phrase completely randomizes the spots. So you can't set a certain catchphrase that will have the same fishing spots for every cartridge.

In other words, in 2003, that was sheer luck that Feebas showed up in the same spot. Mind boggling sheer luck. But now I'm frustrated because I've been looking for Feebas for over an hour and still can't find one.

I'm hoping for a shiny anything while doing this, but I'm using an Old Rod so all I'm seeing are Magikarp and Tentacool. Neither of those are exciting shinies.

It is. It's made even worse that even on a Feebas spot, the encounter rate is only 50%. Meaning I could have already checked a Feebas spot and moved on. This rate was improved to 100% in OR/AS.

i really liked milotic when i first saw it, but when i read about the process to get it i was immediately like... naaaaaaaaah, not worth it.

don't think i ever got one until X/Y when you could just get them from the internets with ease.

Make sure to farm that space for like a dozen so you can get one with good IVs, or at least breeders.
