I don't think mine is...I don't even know what my company does lol

I just sit in a desk all day and do nothing. Maybe file a paper or two and insert some things into a computer. Most of my day I play Switch and use Tinder and chat with coworkers.

The work I actually do? No. I'm a figurehead, nothing more. I exist to show up and get paid to do so.

Unfortunately Im in one of those careers where Ill only be seen as a highly valued asset in...about 15-20 years. Currently I am not entirely replaceable simply because of needing a bit of an education threshold to get my position but its somewhat nebulous. In about 5-10 years I would have a very wide range of options for finding work elsewhere though if I wanted to get out of dodge. Meh, it kinda sucks because for my current pay I could be doing something office related that would be way less stressful but this path will likely pay off down the line. Either way Im doing fine.

In a sometimes very indirect way, my job influences health policy in developing countries. So yeah I think my job is important.

My role is medication management/anticoagulation for our hip and knee Ortho patients. Our ortho program is nationally ranked and I'm the only pharmacist that rounds with the team.

I work in water treatment. If I failed at my job there is a slight possibility a Flint could happen so I'd like to think it was important.
