Some people know their opinion is shit.
So to make it appear less shit they need people to agree with it which is where the alts come in. Especially on the politics board it is not hard to see alts where one guy will post a shit opinion and the next three replies are variations of "THIS" or other one line replies that back up the OP that all also post seconds back to back. The worst one I have seen was a person with 5 alts that after having all five post then quoted all of them and praised them for being "smart" and agreeing with him. --- [Insert tired meme here] ... Originally it was because I wanted some backups when I used to get warned frequently.
Then I used to have them because I used to use them to back myself up in arguments. After that I used to use them to switch to after I made myself look dumb and needed to lay low. But nowadays it's just because I'll think of a different name to go by and I'll prefer that one more strongly than the others, so I'll just use the one account and nothing else. --- Who is? I am! ... To avoid getting caught in the crossfire of the banhammer when using public networks. Ironically I lost a low karma alt because it was not protected by a high karma account so the admins mistakenly thought it was a fresh new Hoth alt and it was killed on sight.
