So my job requires me to travel to different stores all in this area. so i have a home store ill be at most often but can travel.

so i go into a new store for the first time and the GM there is terrible. I dont feel like explaining everything but guy seems to have a short temper, cant read him(one minute hes mad next minute he's laughing)...kinda made me nervous working with him. didnt feel like i could ask him questions about things without some sorta attitude or something. i dont know. gave me a sour taste.

so the next day im scheduled to work there i go in all nervous which at this job im not really nervous. turns out he was leaving as soon as i got there so i didnt have to work with him and instead an assistant manager who seems cool and normal, so that day was fine.

so i go to my home store today for work and a minute of me walking into the door a longtime employee and my home GM ask me "so, how did you like working with ron" and the tone they gave off made me feel like he's a known jackass. so normally I woulda played it off like "well, it was okay, he was alright" but since i could feel their tone I said "ron was terrible" and explained why, and they both started howling with laughter because they know ron and i guess know how terrible he is. i felt immediate relief knowing it isnt just me, a lot of people hate this guy. apparently the upper mgmt knows he sucks but he cant get fired because he is good friends with no. 3 up in the company

i dont want to work with this guy, but ill have to. im scheduled to go back to that store like 4 times next week. i might not be with him every day, but i will no doubt see him. dude left such a bad taste in my mouth i dread it. everybody else, literally every other employee, manager, training, hiring etc has been nice and cool. just one guy.

i told my home manager next time i work with ron im just gonna shut up and do my job, as you cant blame me for doing exactly what im asked.

like how do you guys deal with this? ive never had to work with or under a manager that not only did i not like, is actually crazy and terrible at their job who makes you feel super uneasy? like ive hated and disliked managers before but i never felt nervous/awkward/afraid around one before

im not finding a new one because outside of this one guy this job is great and the pay is decent and benefits are alright.

i mean, i am going to do my job as im told, of course. i am not going to do anything to this guy but what he asks.

but ive never felt this way with a manager. ive hated managers before but never felt this level of nervousness working with one.

aparently he is known for being an asshole(talked to 3 people so far, two hate him and one has only heard of people hating him but never met him)
