I've done every difficulty in the game with The Bee and DPUH. I don't understand how to make this clearer. Every main quest, side quest, DLC, you name it. It's EASY with with those two items on ANY difficulty.

I'm not necessarily saying that they play similarly. I'm saying that the classes feel more homogenous than in Borderlands 1. It felt like they were trying to consolidate multiple roles into individual characters and as a result the characters have very undeveloped skill trees.

It's been a while since I played so I don't remember exactly. I should pick it up just to finish the DLC at least though.

That's not really making the most of his stupidity since with a grog nozzle in one hand you will be stupidly hard to kill while also easily slagging everything.

I hope the loot system is less total fucking ass.

I don't want to spend days killing the same boring enemy 100+ times to finally get ONE of the drop I wanted that, despite being max level is LOL WHOOPS 2 levels lower, before even getting into all the other factors that RNG could fuck me on with the item.

In Borderlands 1, I get that the loot system was harder to control for them, but the thing is, I seldom tediously grinded one thing. I just played a lot and got a lot of good loot. And every kill of Craw was an ERUPTION of great loot. Then you compare that to the raid bosses in 2 and it's pure garbage. Most of the raid bosses in 2 are vastly more difficult than Crawmarax yet give fuck-all for killing them.

Seraph Crystals are a good idea conceptually though. They should definitely keep that.

And TPS' The Grinder is also a good idea. But they need to make grinding a bit less ass. Like, trying to get a Norfleet is just, fuck.

Also they shouldn't make boss/raid bosses that only have a very very tediously rare spawn chance through basic enemy evolution because that's just aggravating for no good reason, especially when you wall off very specific loot behind their drop pools.

In general I think TPS hit the right balance in terms of difficulty in UVHM because shit wasn't cranked up to be so damaging that a lot of stuff outright did more damage than you could ever withstand so it was just forced health-gating which fucked up the meta in many ways. And, since shitty ass slag wasn't a mechanic in TPS you don't have the problem of everything being a damage sponge. But even TPS had problems like at max level, loot can still drop 2 levels lower. BL1 didn't do this, whose dumbass idea was it to change that.

It's just the raid boss, not like you have to do it. It's meant to be a very hard raid boss, one I think they were very heavy-handedly trying to force everyone to coop up against. So Gaige's only real hope in UVHM is to Norfleet nuke it though it gets a bit more complicated beyond that.

Also you can savescum a quest reward in that DLC that is a shotgun that is very good for Gaige as your anarchy climbs, until it starts to make it liable to kill you instead at very high anarchy. So that's fun.

Also that DLC's Seraph Crystal merchant sells a Torgue rifle called Seeker that shoots homing explosive projectiles that is a godsend for Gaige at high Anarchy.

Maya is the best first time character, one of the most fun to play, and the most versatile being able to perform almost any role.

Axton sucks unless you are off host.

Gaige sucks. Unless you just plan on playing normal mode and skipping over a lot of game mechanics.

Salvador is arguably the most complicated to play due to his complex game mechanics, but he gets stupid powerful and boring late game.

Zero is very fun but very unconventional. Try him if you're bored. He's not big on guns except for using them to bore.

Krieg is straight up fun, but more difficult at early levels. Late game you'll have release the beast and bloodsplosion and be able to destroy entire armies with him. He's not OP like Salvador though, his power relies on a lot of enemies being around.

I thought it was a great concept, and I loved the game the first time, so I picked up all the DLC

Well, Raid Bosses are possible to kill with mostly anyone on Normal. It's UVHM where you have to use specific methods with specific characters to kill them. The only ones I've found to kill the Tiny Tina Raid Bosses on UVHM are either Salvador who can do it easy, or 2 Mayas. Krieg can do it too but it sucks using Krieg, I think a lot of luck is involved.

So ironically Voracidous is considered the hardest, but there are ways to kill him with Maya, Krieg, and Salvador whereas the dragons have essentially the same methods to kill them with the same characters but they are far less reliable. So I find the dragons to be much harder.

Also there aren't any easy ways to kill Terramorphous outside of Krieg+Zero, and his drops aren't great anyway. The Hide is the best Melee shield, but it also kills everything around you with its spikes so it isn't good for Krieg, which means it's only useful for Zero. The Order is easier to get and fairly good for Zero.

There's not a ton of luck involved with Gaige soloing them in UVHM, but it's basically one of the most strict gear checks there is for her. You need a Seeker, you need to know how to use Deathtrap well, you need a Norfleet of the right element, you need to know exactly how the raid boss works.

And having an ideal conference call with the right element as a backup helps a ton.

Deathtrap will IMMEDIATELY attack an enemy no matter distance if your crosshairs are over them when you summon, and coupled with Seeker this allows Gaige to pick who comes down even with high anarchy, and basically she has to expend her Norfleet's ammo to burst-kill the problem targets. Who exactly they are can vary depending on what element the Norfleet is of course.

Using a Hoplite helps a lot too. So few people respect the value of that shield. It's absurd on Gaige as well.

Hyperius solo with Gaige is similarly a fairly strict gear check, but the gear is not as hard to source since it's mostly mission rewards or just not super hard to get. Basically get a bee, a fibber and/or sandhawk, lightning bolt grenade/chain lightning, have the grog nozzle quest active so you have access to that, and that's all you need. But trying to do it without those things is a recipe for bad times, if not outright impossibility.

Gaige high anarchy bouncing betty or equivalent slag grenade with fire conference call and hoplite shield.

Terra's melee can't even break Hoplite in one hit, the Conference Call annihilates him and tentacles and the tentacles fully refill the shield with blood-soaked shields. Deathtrap is the decoy of course, use cover behind the rock if necessary. I can kill Terra with that setup as Gaige in around 70 seconds.

Since scaling is done at that point the game actually gets easier.

I don't like OP levels because it doesn't let me keep leveling up and it breaks turtle shields. And at no point in UVHM did I think "I wish enemies took more hits to kill"

The hyperius strategy is pretty much the same with anyone. Same thing can be done with terramorphus.

The main thing Gaige brings to the Hyperius strategy is Deathtrap on distraction and Fibber as an alternative to Sandhawk. And she can sort of work without a bee if using Fibber though it's...rough taking out the bots.

Using a bee and the rock for cover can work on Terra, but Gaige and a Conference Call can just wreck its face more directly.

Gaige isn't truly THAT difficult for a lot of things once you have the gear, though it helps to step outside the mindset that the Bee is a cure-all, because Gaige really doesn't need it.

Insofar as a good unkempt Harold goes yeah that's hard to find, Savage Lee never drops that shit and Torgue Tokens are boring to get imo. Not really worth farming that much either. And for specific weapon combinations, such as Flakker/OP RL. Ladyfist and grog nozzle are easy to get though. As I said much less noticeable on Salvador. Mostly it's class mods for him that are difficult to find. Shields matter a lot less, though nice adaptive Shields seem to be the way to go. Some points of the game you'll end up with a bad shotgun and a ladyfist and you'll be hoping your money shot kills everything.
Mostly though Salvador just gets boring to play as because once you do find good gear it will las for a while and kill everything with ease.

I originally played it on 360. When they said they can transfer saves I was in it to win it.

The first time I played it, I used one of those saves on here for Top Level character. It wasn't so much fun because it started me in the main game first and I couldn't just start with TVH

That's a dumb mission anyway. You can pick up the Marcus mission and just keep the fire gun for a while, but eh.

Oh by the way, missions are always at the same level and so are their rewards in Normal/TVHM. In UVHM they level with you so you want to keep the good mission rewards for the late game.

On the right don't spec into blight phoenix. On the left don't spec past Quicken.

Here's my usual Maya spec at level 72:

For this Maya it's probably better to move 2 points into Kinetic reflection from Suspension (not necessary though). If you aren't Coop don't use Res. Also I specced too much into Immolate and flicker here. Ideally on the right you'll have 3 flicker, 5 Foresight, 1 Immokalee, 5 Heloise, 5 chain reaction, 5 reaper, 1 Ruin, giving you 5 Quicken on the left to get to Life Tap in the middle single player.

Chain reaction is good with a Blurred Trickster. Binder will be the best general purpose class mod, level 50 breakneck Banshee is for running fast, Cat is your glass cannon mod, Nurse is only worth it if Legendary, same with Siren.
