How did they lose Mullet guy?

Isn't Daryl supposed to be like a super tracker? Like, he should've realized immediately.

Nah, he's not really, he was a city boy pretty much/biker etc I think. Tracking a person can be a real pita though, especially if there are roads etc, it becomes almost impossible.

Not watching the show anymore though so, not sure exactly what your talking about, but..yeah, you can lose track of a person easy, even if your skilled. Just takes common sense (not even practice/skills) to figure out how to foil people tracking you (find a river for instance and wade up/down in it awhile, then get out find another asap, do the same etc, climb a cliff a bit (lead up to the cliff, then go sideways instead of up to the top, come back down and go a diff direction.

Things like that can make it take a VERY long time to track you if not make it impossible, especially if you are being careful where you step, and not to leave broken branches etc behind you. Step on rocks as much as possible or fallen trees etc, avoid leaving anything behind and yeah, tracking you is going to be insanely hard, especially if any time has passed (rain etc makes it even worse).
