Poll of the Day > Unable to answer

There have been multiple polls lately that I am unable to answer because none of the answers would be accurate. Take today's (4/11/18) for example. I have bought the same game more than once multiple times, but not for any of the reasons listed. However, instead of having a "yes, but for other reasons etc" I can only answer "yes, for more than one of the listed reasons". I feel like a simple proofread with the intention of everyone being able to answer the question would fix the issue.

A few days ago, they had a poll where none of the answers was truly accurate for me (the "how old was the most recent game you played" poll). I just picked the closest answer. I promise, no one's going to bite if you do that.

I know. I just don't see the point. They are obviously trying to gather data that is potentially valuable to someone right? There's really no point in me making this topic either, than to kill time. Just noticed it happening more frequently lately, and it's always been something I do when I visit the site.

What polls?

So, that was the original reason for this board. To talk about it to gain more information on he polls and possibly understand how to give more answers. Technically, they should always have an other option, but that's beside the point. But I feel that they can gain the extra data and knowledge from the APotD board now... if they need or want to...

There is the possiblility that no one cares about the data. And it was just a fun thing. Or that the person who cared about the data is gone now...

I've been thinking about it over the last 35 minutes since I posted this, and have changed my opinion a bit. It's fine if there isn't an "other" option all the time, or if I am unable to answer because how can they possibly know every contingency.

Essentially my problem is that I've always enjoyed voting and then seeing how I compare to the rest of the community. However, I can essentially get the same thing by not voting, looking at the results, and then possibly engaging in a discussion if I see fit. I shouldn't even have mentioned the value of the data. That's just my cranky old cynicism peeking out.

I'm not going to lock this in case other people want to discuss it further, but I feel better about this now. Thanks for the discussion.

I was essentially looking for something to the effect of buying a different edition or version. The funny thing is I went back and double checked after you asked, just to be sure, and I actually fit into two of those categories. A good reminder to not post a topic until you are fully awake.

So today's poll is not a great example, but I have definitely had ones in the recent past that were. Which is probably why I jumped the gun. Sorry ya'll.
