Uninspired story clunky controls grainy visuals if arv wanted to watch cartoons he would go back to 1999 and turn on fox kids this game is an abomination and clearly outdated. The 5/10 is not far off. The story has zero depth and is about as nuanced as the first FF. Start a new kingdom, unite the land, fight the main bad guy. That's literally all of it. The characters are okay, but nothing special. There's no reason to care, and the main one is so nice that he defies logic. The guy who betrays and kills his father as well as the main villain are "forgiven" because he literally doesn't care about all the people they killed or hurt. He acts like some brain damaged child and just accepts them. It's weird and doesn't work. The combat is functional, but not very engaging. The side content is mandatory, as I found out part way through the final chapter. It's 90% boring fetch quests. Essentially, you need to level up your kingdom a few times to progress to the ending, which requires waiting for special gold to generating like some F2P game (except it only increases while playing but hits a cap so you can't just leave it either) and luring in potential townsfolk. I did not like the side content and then right near the end had "now do 15~ hours of grinding to do the hour or two of story left" dumped on my lap.
