If you really want that preorder bonus then preorder an hour before the release. That way you still get your garbage and have time to preload but the publisher can't use you in their stats.

I don't normally pre-order. I only do it for something that I either really want(like a game on my favorite series, or original game that looks good) or if I think a game might sell out or not have enough physical copies.
