Well I didn't. I would have loved to have somebody to be intimate with but life at the time seemed to teach me that nobody did or could like me in that way and I just had to try to make peace with that.

It's not a confidence thing, for me at least it was a desire to be respectful and never pursue somebody who didn't want to be pursued, that combined with being trained to have low self esteem will get you pursuing nobody.

1. They actually want somebody to approach them
and
2. They want me to approach them

Seemed supper arrogant, selfish, and disrespectful.

Like if somebody chose to be on a date with me or something then it wouldn't be smug to talk to them but just out of nowhere to act like you are gods gift to women and talk to all of them with the expectation that you aren't going to bother or annoy any seemed wrong.

I never got set up on dates or anything, plus I've been overweight for a while so I'm pretty sure nobody could have really liked me anyway. I'm working on losing the weight now. But many many years have gone by so I might have missed out entirely.

Yeah and most human beings don't love being bothered by strangers.

I'm fine talking to people when the context makes sense but to just socially interject yourself into somebody else's world feels wrong.

And then if I am having a conversation with a girl I think it's very rude to make it at all flirty, if a girl is willing to talk to me I shouldn't punish them by turning it into me hitting on them just like they probably get too much already.

It's pretty moot because I'm overweight still and I don't want to pursue something physical with somebody who doesn't find me physically attractive.
