I'm planning on playing through the FFXIII trilogy again because I hate myself and that was the one I never actually touched.

Also, what a stupid fucking title.

All I know is that the ending of FFXIII-2 is one of the most rage inducing things I've ever seen so idk if this makes it better or worse

i actually really liked ff13-2

serah is a much better main character than lightning
and i really enjoyed her and noel's adventure

but its ending really is god awful
thankfully there are alternate endings so i just look at the one where serah goes off with snow to have adventures as the real ending

they are all better than the canon one

even the one where serah and noel end up trapped in a dead world with no way to escape is better than the canon one (you get this one by beating the final boss solo with serah using something that makes him harder in the section where serah had to fight him solo)

even the one where serah ends up in a future overrun with machines that she has decided to fight against is better than the canon one (you get this one by beating the giant robot without weakening it first. its the easiest alternate ending to get since its just a boss fight against a enemy with final boss level stats)

basically once you beat the game you get a device you can use on different time periods which makes the boss of that area super hard

then you beat it to get an alternate ending which is rather easy other than having to beat a super boss (there is also an ending for beating the final boss with just noel like you did with serah)

the machine and the giant flan endings are the easiest to get because you dont need to use the device to get them you just need to beat the bosses without weakening them first

I don't know fuck-all about the games, but I know Jesse Cox has completed every game series on his channel except this one which he rage quit. He's also a pretty hardcore FF fan.

Idk, wasn't a fan of how as the series went on you had less and less party members.

Hell I remember the arguments for XIII about how 6 party members were too many/too little.

Then SE smoked something strong and went and said "nah, 2 party members+ 1 temporary is fine"

Then SE lost their fucking minds and said "heard you just wanted Lightning so badly so here you go"

well to be fair the monster capture system gives you more party members than 13 had
plus you can get monster crystals of characters from ff13 so you can have a party of serah noel and snow if you really want to

The no third party member thing was pretty fucking dumb but I did like having monster party members. Seeing Giant Cactuar fight alongside you is hilarious.

Also they did Sazh all wrong. Dude is the best character in that series.

Still, that game has more open areas to mess around, humorous dialogue trees, badass Noel, a villain who actually had an interesting motive, and a faster combat system. Also the music is top tier. My favorite out of all the FF games

I honestly think 13-2 is the weakest of the three. LR is kind of fun if you like "time limit" games like Majoras Mask or Dead Rising, combat and exploration is also done well but the latter isn't too deep but man the story is all over the place.
