Was looking at cheap places to buy a home and that topped the list.

Then looked at Zillow and yeah...it's insane.

Anyway live there or have any info on why homes are being sold for 6 months rent in other places?

Saw a 2 bedroom 1 bath home for sale for $9000.

I mean that is like 4 months rent in the bay area.

Was doing some research, reddit has posts about this etc.

Seems some of them are pretty bad, but house flippers love to snag the ones under 50k.

You can get quite a few really good ones for around 50k though, and I read that a few people bought 2 story homes and rented out half of the house after purchasing them.

Rental prices are still pretty high, so you can literally make back the money you spend buying a home in a few years by renting out half of your home.

That is pretty crazy!!

May have to look at moving there, as it seems like the perfect place to retire.
