What the hell is that 200 million dollar budget even for if it's not to get good fight choreography and a steady camera to show it instead of resorting to nauseating tactics?

You can make a cgi dragon, but you can't make a fight scene that is shown done right? What?

Like, even the MCU, much as I love it, is not immune, and is actually one of the bigger offenders since I actually want to see the fight scenes. But more often than not a lot of them feature that stupid quick cut shit, and although they have gotten better, and given us occasionally nice scenes, it's still a problem. Winter soldier and civil war both have examples of the 2 scenarios.

It's cost effective, less time consuming, and it makes people with no experience at fighting make them at least somewhat competent. If you see the timeline how long it takes to do a Jackie Chan film, you'll know why Hollywood doesn't like making them. It can take years to finish a movie.

I always thought it was a stylistic choice. Trying to convey the rawness of the moment (nothing is pretty and smooth about whats happening).

Hell, I think 24 basically made it a signature style.

because actors can't fight, and having them learn enough to look good for an action movie would take way too long and would be too expensive

I also blame the Bourne movies, which are retroactively garbage and I can't believe I ever liked them as a teen.

This is one of my biggest gripes about the Transformers movies. It's completely unnecessary there.

Classic video, good times. Yeah I know what it was like for Hollywood a decade ago, but I just would have thought they'd improve by now, like how cgi has steadily improved. Hell I wouldn't mind it being cgi'd. I mean black panther cat's costume was reportedly cgi in civil war so it should be possible to even cgi good fight scenes.
