That's not exactly how I'd put it. There's this thing in the Christian community where there's a distinction between faith and religion. It's all unnecessary hair splitting if you ask me, but knowing that there are takes on what the word means, I avoid using it.

I'd call myself a follower of Jesus Christ.

No. The only times I've ever set foot inside a church in the past at least 15 years have been for weddings/funeral services... and this one time I helped my parents put tables away after a church dinner.
