Thats an oversized liver, a side effect of gene manipulation. This might be true, as that is next to the backbone. I've gotten little bits of guts attached to the chicken lots of times. They just missed it when they were cleaning it out. The chicken is deep fried enough that food poisoning should not be an issue. You'll be fine. --- i am truley sorry for your lots ...
