And I'm not talking some stupid goofy shit like H1Z1, PUBG or Fortnite. All these lame as fuck shooters that barely control well or have some lame gimmick like 'building' things in a flash. Instead what this genre needs is a real AAA juggernaut to come in and give these kids a real taste of hunting and killing.

There's only one IP, one game that could possibly break this generic early access shit-smearing rut.

Manhunt 3.

Could you imagine it, though? With how popular streaming games has become, Rockstar could do some clever shit with Manhunt 3.

Keep the game stealth and melee focused, ranged weapons are extremely rare and of very limited use. Have the game come happily packaged with a spectator mode that hooks it up to something like YT or Twitch and makes it look like some real deep dark web/red room shit. Grainy, cheap camcorders with multiple angles of the surroundings, the audience can express their approval towards a particularly brutal player that's cleaning house, they can call out pussies that are hiding in corners and get them exposed on every other player's radar as a "lost little lamb" or something gimmicky like that.

And if everybody wants to be a sissy and just hide, the Director sends his Cerberus Unit in to annihilate the entire game and all the players get fuck-all for wasting everyone's time. LOL

TC is right. Why does every BR game feel like it was developed in a dumpster with old chicken bones?

That means nobody can learn from that colossal mistake and make a proper one? The perfect template is already there with PlanetSide 1. Just needs better graphics and gun mechanics

Funny thing is people will buy anything without thinking. Too much disposable income.

As much as you hate it, early access is here to stay. As long as you can move your character, people will buy it.

Why would anyone waste their time looking for people being passive by hiding in a corner? Save them for last. Take out the real competition/threats, then go for the lambs.

That'd be one tactic, however I'd also make it so lambs provide a proper bonus to the first person that kills them such as a multiplier. Thing is, I wouldn't tell the lamb they're a lamb. They'll have zero idea they are exposed to everybody else.

One thing that accumulates over time though are kill points and cinematic points. Kill points are as they appear, stuff you get from killing others and are typically for hasty or efficient sorts. No nonsense types. Cinematic points are more difficult to accumulate because they require a much more sinister sort of person. If you pose a dead body by, say, hanging them by a rope so that most other players can see what you did then you get cinematic points. If you fuck with someone's head and stalk them before ending them, you get cinematic points (think of how Michael Myers has the obsession mechanic from Dead by Daylight). That sort of stuff.

The difference is, kill points is just general 'currency' you can use to unlock cosmetic stuff or act as ways to get access to better traits or perks. Cinematic points, however, puts your character on feature films to be watched on the main Rockstar site. You're on proud display, a real slash star. A leaderboard without being called a leaderboard.
